The Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA), now in its 18th year, has nearly 14,000 members across the United States riding and coaching Hunt Seat, Western, and Dressage disciplines. The non-profit (501(c)3) IEA was organized to promote and improve the quality of equestrian competition and instruction available to middle and secondary school students in grades 4 - 12 and is open to public and private schools and barn teams. There is no need for a rider to own a horse because the IEA supplies a mount and tack to each equestrian for competitions. Its purpose is to set minimum standards for competition, provide information concerning the creation and development of school associated equestrian sport programs, to generally promote the common interests of safe riding instruction and competition and education on matters related to equestrian competition at the middle and secondary school levels.
Double Deuce Farm has hosted an IEA team since 2007. Our mission is to promote Team Spirit, a positive attitude, and the growth of all our riders, while maintaining a fun environment for the passionate and enthusiastic equestrian. Even if you already have a horse, practicing, and showing under this format will improve you riding skills tremendously!
Our teams have been very successful in many ways! We have placed consistently at Regionals, Zones, and Nationals. We have had National Champions/Reserve National Champions in both Hunt Seat & Western. Not only have the teams been successful in the show ring, they have developed confidence, put in a lot of hard work and dedication, built new relationships, conquered the unknown; all while having fun along the way!
